During the Interactive Dialogue with Special Rapporteur on Cultural Rights at HRC40, Action Canada delivered a joint statement on our and SRI's behalf to show our support to the work of Karima Bennoune, Special Rapporteur on Cultural Rights and demand stronger support from the UN in this field.

AWID and the Association for Progressive Communications delivered this statement during the Interactive Dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on Cultural Rights, during the 40th Session of the Human Rights Council in support of the mandate of the Special Rapporteur in the fields of Cultural Rights, Karima Bennoune.

Oral statement at the 40th session of the Human Right Council on the crucial role of women human rights defenders (WHRDs) and feminist activists and their right to engage at international and regional levels without any discrimination, violence, threats and reprisals. 

The right to privacy is a fundamental human right, to be enjoyed by all. This statement was delivered at the UN Human Rights Council 40th Session, on March 1st, 2019.
