nous estimons que pour être transformateurs et forts, les mouvements féministes doivent continuer à travailler au-delà de leurs similitudes et de leurs différences. Nous devons également interroger le pouvoir et les privilèges, tant au sein qu'à l'extérieur de nos mouvements.

Nuestros pensamientos acompañan a las numerosas personas de todo el mundo que se ven más afectadas por las repercusiones de la pandemia global del COVID-19, en especial, en las comunidades marginalizadas que han sido oprimidas históricamente.

Esta es una invitación destinada a artistas y activistas creativxs que quieran reunirse en un espacio virtual para conectarse, construir comunidad y apoyarse mutuamente en estos tiempos difíciles. Con este objetivo, hemos creado una comunidad de Slack nueva, para compartir en forma segura pensamientos, aprendizajes, trucos de vida, recursos, consejos, temores y ansiedades, recordatorios esperanzadores y alegres, y para charlar en general sobre cómo estamos.

La creación conjunta de nuestras realidades feministas comienza con nosotrxs mismxs y con cómo nos tratamos mutuamente. Nos esforzamos por crear y proteger espacios seguros para nuestras comunidades, tanto en línea como en forma presencial. También creemos que los espacios seguros y amigables son de propiedad y creación conjuntas. Esperamos que nuestrxs integrantes actúen de manera ética, responsable y consistente con los valores de AWID, y asuman la responsabilidad colectiva de garantizar una atmósfera de respeto y solidaridad recíprocos.

Como parte de nuestras conversaciones en curso, en Slack ofreceremos disparadores semanales, para facilitar el diálogo e inspirar los procesos artísticos en forma amable. Este puede ser un proceso introspectivo, pero para aprovechar al máximo esta comunidad, lxs invitamos a interactuar con lxs demás integrantes y compartir ideas, como parte de nuestras discusiones . La intención es invitar a la gente a responder de manera libre y gradual, escribiendo o produciendo arte como mejor lo sientan.

El contexto

• Continuamos observando un rápido quiebre de la democracia y las instituciones democráticas, así como una reducción de los espacios para el disenso.
• Las crisis sistémicas múltiples y simultáneas (de energía, alimentos, financiera y climática) continúan profundizando las desigualdades y presentan desafíos enormes.
• Las corporaciones son un poder de gran peso en cuanto a decidir cuál será la agenda para el desarrollo.
• La violencia contra las defensoras de derechos humanos continúa siendo un problema urgente.
• Los fundamentalismos religiosos son omnipresentes y tienen un poder cada vez mayor.
• Han surgido nuevas formas de violencia de género en línea.

En respuesta a esto, estamos saliendo de nuestros compartimentos estancos.

En todo el mundo, los movimientos por los derechos de las mujeres y otros movimientos están logrando articular cada vez más la naturaleza sistémica e interseccional de estos problemas y de muchos otros.

Te presentamos a Sabrina Sanchez, increíble mujer trans, migrante, trabajadora sexual, organizadora, transfeminista y una de las fundadoras del sindicato OTRAS.

Originaria de la Ciudad de México, emigró a España hace 17 años después de graduarse en comunicaciones y comenzó a trabajar como trabajadora sexual.

No pasó mucho tiempo antes de que se involucrara con el activismo trans y el activismo de trabajadoras sexuales en Barcelona. Después de unirse al colectivo Asociación de Profesionales del Sexo (Aprosex), comenzó a trabajar en su secretaría y fundó el sindicato español de trabajadoras sexuales OTRAS.

Actualmente vive en Ámsterdam, donde trabaja como coordinadora de la Alianza Europea de Trabajadoras Sexuales.

The #MeToo movement in China was ignited in January 2018, impelled by the momentum of the #MeToo movement around the globe. The movement was a response to cultural and systemic problems in relation to gender and power within China. The foundation of the movement was laid over decades, with many years of debate and advocacy for gender equality finally erupting into a tremendous force across society. #MeToo has been driven mainly by young people, among whom are countless anonymous women and their allies, and they search for opportunities to realize the ultimate “Chinese Dream”: to transform China into a country with gender equality.
 
The environment for #MeToo movement is extremely adverse in China: the rule of law, the fairness and transparency of government action, and freedom of speech cannot be taken for granted by the movement in China but are the very goals it fights for. From the beginning, it has been an intense struggle, with every victim or activist who comes forward running tremendous risks. From being silenced, humiliated, or retaliated against, to having their safety jeopardized, every success of the #MeToo movement has been won by those who are courageous enough to bear the costs of speaking out and defying censorship.
 
#MeToo in China Exhibition was first held in 2019 and toured in 5 cities. The aim of the exhibition is to bring the personal experiences of the victims and activists to greater prominence and, through engagement with these stories, to inspire our audience to join in the fight. The exhibition has itself become a part of the #MeToo struggle—the exhibition has been beset by challenges on its tour throughout China, on more than one occasion even facing closure.
