The New Uniform for School Girls in Afghanistan Is a Total Disaster

After months of deliberation and using the country’s funds to pay staff, the Ministry of Education of Afghanistan just released the design for new uniforms for school girls. There are more things wrong with it than we can list, but here is a start. Take a good look first. I think the only outfit that would be worse to impose would be a full-on burqa.

The so-called FreeSpeechBus, is currently spreading its hateful message through the streets of New York City. The organizers behind the bus include the notoriously anti-LGBTIQ groups International Organization for the Family and National Organization for Marriage.

5 Ways We Can Defend Women’s Rights and Muslim Rights

On January 22, many of the women I know across the Muslim world stood with U.S. women. Some stood in spirit as the Women’s March movement crossed the globe. Some held their own marches, sending messages of solidarity. Many expressed hope that the American women’s movement would take a progressive stance with respect to U.S. foreign policy and U.S. relations with the Islamic world. They wished for less aggression and conflict in the region, and an end to the demonization of Muslims.
