The Nobel Women’s Initiative is looking for a dynamic activist who wants to make a meaningful contribution to women’s movements and women’s efforts in advancing peace around the world. This is an opportunity to further the work of the Nobel Women’s Initiative by amplifying the voices of women leaders—including grassroots activists from conflict countries—in a broad range of media here in North America and around the world.

Supporting inclusive movements: Funding the rights of women with disabilities
Leading advocates and women’s rights donors agree that much more can and needs to be done to include women with disabilities in women’s rights activism, agenda setting, and funding. This brief explores funding at the intersection of women’s rights and disability rights and offers steps donors can take to ensure that their grantmaking is more inclusive of women with disabilities and to support this emerging movement.
In September of last year, thousands of women gathered in Bahia, Brazil for AWID’s women’s rights Forum to celebrate the collective power of women and the importance of intersectionality. Due to a concerted effort by passionate activists, donors, and AWID, for the first time women with disabilities were visible participants in this important global conference, demonstrating their power and rightful place within the women’s rights movement.
