Scholarships: Online Distance Learning Programme for Human Rights Defenders
The Centre for Applied Human Rights is offering full and partial scholarships to human rights defenders and their supporters to participate on our online distance learning programme.
To qualify, applicants for the scholarship must be:
- actively involved in human rights work
- either hold a leadership position in a civil society organisation or demonstrate strong potential for such leadership
Priority will be given to applicants from non-OECD countries and women human rights defenders at risk.
As students for continuing professional development, participants in the modules will be taken through a 60 hour programme spread over 9 weeks. Those who wish to receive a Certificate of Participation must participate regularly online and submit the Practical Assignment set for the module.
The two modules coming up in 2017:
Working Safely: Managing Risk and Strengthening Protection (11 January – 15 March 2017)
Leading and Managing Effective Human Rights Organisations (19 April – 14 June 2017)
Those who are interested need to complete this online form
The deadline for applications for the 'Working Safely' module is 29 December 2016.
