IT Project Manager

– Assist in further developing thinking regarding technology to enable IDM uptake and use
– Part-time (0.8 FTE), flexible hours delivery, fixed-term (six months initially, with potential for extension).

AN OPPORTUNITY YOU WILL LOVE

This role is an exciting opportunity for an established project manager to manage all phases of an integrated data collection application, storage and visualisation project (‘IDM technology project’), a key IWDA deliverable within the Individual Deprivation Measurement (IDM) Program, to time, cost and quality requirements.

The IDM is a new, gender-sensitive and multidimensional measure of poverty developed to assess deprivation at the individual level and address limitations of current approaches that measure poverty at the household level. The IDM makes it possible to accurately assess the relationship between gender and poverty.

The IDM is being readied for global use through a four-year program partnership between IWDA, the Australian National University (ANU) and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

You will look after coordination and leadership of relevant stakeholder/ advisory groups including the development of charters. You will be responsible for key technical IT liaison, and coordination of elements of the tender process and solution evaluation process. You will ensure vendor performance and contract compliance, undertaking a range of reporting to ensure ongoing tracking and communication with partners about project progress. Your engagement with relevant global initiatives will ensure that the IDM Program’s approach to data collection, storage, sharing and visualisation is informed by wider data for development work.

WHY YOU WILL EXCEL

You are a highly skilled project manager with successful experience in managing the entire software and system development life cycle.

You have experience managing within the context of waterfall methodologies and a working knowledge of Agile approaches.

You are skilled in working within complex, ambiguous environments using your leadership and communication skills to problem solve and manage relationships.

You are experienced in establishing and running governance bodies and processes for IT projects in a government/ not for profit context.

You love projects with a focus on data capture, analytics, storage and access, and you are excited about the potential for data to transform both understanding and action.
