AWID is looking to hire a committed feminist who is an experienced event organizer as Forum Manager for the AWID International Forum to be held in 2024. The AWID Forum is a global feminist convening of up to 2000 participants.

The Forum Manager will hold overall responsibility for Forum logistics and all aspects of organizing, from planning and design to implementation and evaluation of this global convening.

In this role you will provide strategic leadership to the development and manage the implementation of the Forum workplan coordinating closely with the Director of Membership and Constituency Engagement (MCE) and the Co-Executive Directors (Co-EDs) who are leading the overall AWID Forum strategy. You will organize site visits and meetings with women's rights, feminists, LGBTQI rights and other social justice groups at potential Forum locations to understand context dynamics and expectations of the event, and assess and respond to logistics-related needs. You will facilitate decision making by providing well-researched, objective and balanced descriptions of all aspects of Forum organizing (financial, political, human resources-related and any other relevant ones), along with recommendations. On site, you will have ultimate responsibility for the smooth operation of all aspects of the Forum: You will hold, develop, and maintain relationships with AWID partners and allies, AWID members and diverse feminist movements. You will be willing to continuously expand your knowledge about diverse accessibility needs and solutions.

Successful applicants will have significant experience in roles responsible for overseeing, developing and implementing a large and complex event, convening, or conference at a minimum of 1000 participants and over at a singular event. You should have demonstrated capacity to think strategically and analytically, with expertise in complex problem solving, decision making and critical thinking skills, displaying good judgement. You should have a strong understanding of  international project planning and management.  You would be someone who can thrive in a virtual environment working in high-pressure situations and with tight deadlines (and ideally, preventing high-pressure situations and safeguarding realistic guidelines and collective wellbeing as much as possible).
