The Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID) is a global, feminist, membership, movement-support organisation. The position and profile
AWID is looking to hire a committed creative individual to take up the Coordinator role in the Information, Communications & Media (ICM) tactic. The ICM tactic is rooted in the realization that timely information and strategic communications will advance AWID’s goals. This tactic aims to ensure that AWID’s communication efforts are effective throughout, accessible, creative and advance programmatic goals.
In this role, you will be required to contribute to the design and development of communication plans and strategies for projects, programmatic and institutional needs. You will work and collaborate with various internal stakeholders to follow up on the production and ensure the dissemination of content across AWID’s online platforms in furtherance of strategic communication goals. You will ensure that AWID is well represented in virtual and physical spaces (through effective management of social media channels and/or live reporting from events and meetings).
As the right candidate, you should be able to contribute to building a diverse team and an inclusive working environment. You will be understanding of AWID’s political values, and be sensitive to how these influence the way you take up the responsibilities of the role.
Successful applicants will have experience in a similar creative role, in a similar non-profit development, feminist, human rights and/or funding organization. They should have demonstrated capacity to manage digital communication channels and communities including via websites, social media platforms, and constituent relationship management systems. They should have an understanding of web and social media analytics, insights and measurement tools and how to use them to influence AWID’s digital media response and be creative in using graphic design, audio and video editing tools to develop creative multimedia content. They would be someone who can thrive in a virtual work environment working with diverse groups from multiple identities across the globe, motivated to take on challenges and collaboratively find innovative and creative solutions.
Term: full time - 35 hours a week
Salary: The starting gross annual salary for this tier role is $44,500 USD
