Overview of Position:

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced program management professional with strong project implementation and management skills, content expertise and effective program and team leadership experience eager to work with AWID’s senior leadership and a talented team dedicated to advancing feminism, women’s rights and gender justice.

The Manager of Resourcing Feminist Movements (RFM) Initiative reports directly to a Programs Director and leads a small but dedicated team of professionals in achieving program, and organisational objectives. This full-time position is responsible for providing leadership for AWID’s Resourcing Feminist Movements (RFM) initiative.

About the RFM Initiative

The RFM Initiative is the evolution of AWID’s focus on resourcing feminist, gender justice, and women’s rights movements, and continues the legacy of the “Where is the Money for Women’s Rights?” initiative established by AWID in 2005. The initiative focuses on the politics and practices around resources for feminist, gender justice, women’s rights and allied movements and aims to influence strategic thinking, action and advocacy around transforming approaches to funding, resource mobilization and accountability.

Through this initiative, AWID will 1) monitor and outline the funding trends impacting access to resources for women’s rights and feminist movements; 2) with allies, imagine and co-create feminist resourcing ecosystems to sustain and resource our movements, and strategize with our allies to work towards achieving these envisioned ecosystems; and 3) understand the current state of organizing and work towards developing and supporting more autonomous organizing and resourcing within movements and for AWID’s work.

Starting in 2018, this initiative will begin its first year in our five year strategic plan from 2018 - 2022.
