Gender Equality and Inclusion Expert - consultancy
The purpose of this study is to conduct an assessment of the technical, entrepreneurial and vocational education and training (TEVET) system to understand better the current situation and experience of young women and vulnerable students in Government and nonGovernment technical training institutions (including technical colleges, community technical colleges, and community skills development centres). The study will form the basis for measures by which to address weaknesses and gaps in the TEVET system. It is against this background that the UNESCO is hereby inviting interested and competent individuals / companies for the consultancy services for a study to examine current situation of TEVET from a gender and inclusion lens.
The United Nations Program leads OutRights’ international advocacy work through participation in intergovernmental mechanisms, with a particular focus on the New York based UN system. The UN Program Officer works within the UN program team, lead by the UN Program Coordinator. The Program Officer will support the Coordinator in executing the vision of OutRight’s UN program.
The role contributes to developing the program and securing project funding to ensure the long-term growth of a robust and relevant gender program. The role leads the development and implementation of the Gender Equality program and supports women and girl’s leadership and addressing prevention of gender based violence. The role is responsible for all aspects of managing the program, including managing multiple donor projects, providing oversight of program activities, quality control, monitoring and evaluation, reporting and budget management as well as development of new projects.
In cooperation with the medica mondiale technical advisors on trauma work, the consultant develops a training curriculum for police/rule of law institutions supporting survivors of violence in Dohuk province. The curriculum will address: sexual gender-based violence (sgbv), women's rights, community policing, referral procedures, principles of stress- and trauma sensitivity, mental health triage, communication techniques, family mediation techniques and self-care/staff care. The consultant has full access to medica mondiale’s training materials and manuals. Beginning in May 2017, the consultant starts to implement the curriculum in Dohuk, in close cooperation with the medica mondiale sub-country office in place.
