Volunteer Registration
The Forum is now over, but we encourage you to check the "Latest News" section of this site for selected session writeups, transcripts, and other post-forum information. Updates will be posted throughout December and January.
The deadline for applying is now over.
AWID is accepting applications for Forum volunteers. Volunteers will be required to work a total of eight hours during the Forum, usually in two four-hour shifts. In exchange, volunteers will be entitled to a reduced Forum registration fee of $100 USD. Please note that all other costs, including housing, meals, airfare and incidental expenses are the responsibility of the volunteer.
Volunteer assignments will be based on the needs of the Forum. The majority of volunteer tasks are administrative and include passing out materials, photocopying, directing and giving information to participants, monitoring the exhibit halls and meeting rooms, handling registration, and so on. There are also special volunteer positions available for session reporters and language interpreters.
Volunteers must agree to participate in a pre-conference orientation session at the Shangri-la Hotel in Bangkok on Wednesday 26 October 2005 (Time: TBA). We regret that people unable to attend this orientation session will not be able to participate in the volunteer program. Please note also that all volunteers must speak at least a little English, although fluency is NOT required.
If you are interested in volunteering, please submit the application form below BEFORE you register. We will get back to you within 4 weeks with a decision. If your application is accepted, you will be given a login and a password, which you can use to register online at the special discounted rate.
