Rehabilitation and Welfare Development Organization for Afghanistan (RWDOA) was established in 2009 as a non-governmental, non-political, non-profit and non-partisan organization with the aim of participating in the post-conflict national rehabilitation and reintegration campaign. The establishment of the organization arose from the political and socio-economic context in Afghanistan which presents one of the most challenging and complex development pictures in the international development arena today. RWDOA aims to contribute to the rehabilitation, development and democratization processes in Afghanistan.  It intends to do this through undertaking context-oriented initiatives, gender-mainstreamed mechanisms and internationally examined approaches in order to enable the strengthening of civil society and support Afghans, especially the disadvantage and the poor, to stand on their own. The organization currently works on sustainable livelihoods, human rights and civil society, gender, and emergency relief. RWDOA envisions a developed, poverty free and democratic Afghanistan where all Afghans, regardless of gender, live a life in dignity, free from violence and discrimination.
