Following the AWID Forum in CapeTown, the Wings of the Butterfly collective and the artistic team and staff travelled to the INDLOVU Center, located in the township community of Monwabisi Park on the outskirts of Cape Town, South Africa, to develop a cultural exchange and a resonance workshop with women in the community.
Read more...On Thursday, November 30, 2008, a roundtable discussion on the anti-discrimination legislation in the Czech Republic and in the E.U. took place in the European House in Prague. The goal of the discussion was to initiate debate among experts on the new anti-discrimination directive proposal, and to develop a conversation on combating discrimination on all grounds. A debate among experts is the first step to a larger public debate.

On Sunday December 21, 2008 plain clothes and uniformed police and security officials raided the offices of the Defenders of Human Rights Center (DHRC), a human rights Organization headed by Nobel Peace Prize winner Shirin Ebadi, preventing a delayed celebration of the 60th anniversary of the UN Declaration of Human Rights by the Center and sealing their offices.
