Theorizing women's organizing

One of the framing themes of this study is the difficulty of articulating just what a feminist organization is.

There are several questions related to this theme. First, is a women's organization necessarily a feminist organization? The answer to this is not as self-evident as it might seem. In some ways, almost any organization of women is political, in that women are not seen to be political entities with regular participation in the so-called public sphere.
