Resource: "A Love Un-African" Short Documentary

In Ghana, homosexuality is still considered to be a moral aberration, or even a myth, and same-sex sexual acts are illegal under the law. Recent statements by politicians and people of influence have raised red flags in the international community, Malawi has already lost millions of pounds of developmental aid from the United Kingdom, and countries like Ghana are also at risk if their laws and attitudes are not changed.

We focused on the dialogue that has been building over the past several months, with the hope of continuing and adding to the discussion. asking: Is homosexuality inherently un-African? What does it mean to be Ghanaian and have an LGBTQ identity? How is popular opinion on controversial topics formed, and how does change happen?
