Every two weeks we profile a different individual AWID member. If you would like to be profiled here, please send your biographical information to membership@awid.org
Kimberly was born in the United States and excelled in her academic studies. And she went on to complete her bachelors in business from NYU Stern. Through her work with a number of women’s advocacy groups Kimberly realized her passion for women’s empowerment and decided to pursue a Masters in Public Administration from NYU Wagner. While studying she also consulted with non-governmental organizations in Guatemala and India. During her studies at NYU Wagner she was also a group leader for the Student Alliance for Africa and NYU Chamber Singers. Today, Kimberly is searching to find a place for herself that involves both business and public service. Her vision is to contribute through her work—of training women on transferrable business skills—towards the achievement of freedom and equality. She began to slowly work towards this vision by tutoring grade school girls in mathematics. Today Kimberly is planning a move from New York City to Kigali, Rwanda. While there Kimberly will volunteer at the Akilah Institute for Women and train its students in business math. Kimberly loves to travel on a budget. She is also fluent in English, French, and basic Arabic.
